FarmKonnect

FarmKonnect was founded on the vibrant idea of Agricultural Real Estate (AgRE), with a strong belief in nurturing and empowering youth in the field of agriculture. While I take responsibility for my decisions, FarmKonnect encountered significant setbacks and incurred substantial losses due to various uncontrollable factors, notably the impact of COVID-19 and other unforeseen challenges. These circumstances were not fully understood by the Board, resulting in the resignation of 43% of its members, including the Chairman. The dissolution of the Board shattered the hopes and aspirations of FarmKonnect, putting the dreams and vision at risk of being forgotten.

However, my commitment to the investors, particularly the big investors and the military personnel (who serve the nation despite being undercompensated), compelled me to fight and revive the business. In the face of severe malicious attacks, including physical assaults, murder attempts, and kidnapping incidents, my name was tarnished on the internet, and I was falsely declared wanted by the FCID, amplified by some of the former directors. These setbacks significantly hindered our ability to rebound and jeopardized both the company and its investors. Multiple legal battles and oppressive actions ensued.

Despite these challenges, I made it my duty to focus on the growth and success of the business. While FarmKonnect encountered difficulties, I firmly believe that it is not a failure but rather a challenge that can be overcome. With resilience and determination, we are working towards surmounting these obstacles and revitalizing the vision of FarmKonnect.

AFIDE, a simple cooperative savings model, aimed to revolutionize the way Nigerians contribute and save money by channeling those funds into agricultural projects. Unlike traditional methods that withdraw money from the economy, AFIDE allowed daily earners to save and earn from agricultural ventures while contributing to the growth of the sector.

The model was tested over a period of 54 months with 300 members and experienced remarkable success, leading to an exponential growth in membership to 7,000 within just three months. This significant expansion prompted plans to upgrade the system to accommodate the growing demand. However, unforeseen challenges arose when two top officials were discovered to be involved in fraudulent activities, triggering a cash run and creating a sense of mistrust among subscribers.

Unfortunately, this unfortunate series of events coincided with the challenges faced by FarmKonnect, further exacerbating the situation and resulting in violence and intolerance from certain subscribers. As a result, the company was forced to suspend its operations.

Despite the setbacks, there is a strong belief in reviving this noble fintech venture. AFIDE holds enormous potential with an estimated annual valuation of over 25 billion Naira if managed and operated effectively. The innovative concept of leveraging cooperative savings for agricultural projects has the power to transform the savings culture in Nigeria and contribute to the growth of the agricultural sector.

The revival of AFIDE requires careful planning, enhanced security measures, and a renewed commitment to transparency and accountability. By addressing the issues that led to its initial failure and implementing necessary safeguards, AFIDE can once again become a trusted platform for individuals to save, invest, and earn from agricultural ventures, fostering financial inclusion and contributing to the overall economic development of Nigeria.

Military Service

Throughout my military career, spanning from 2001 to 2018, I achieved significant milestones and made substantial progress in rank. From the moment I entered as a Cadet, I embarked on a journey of rigorous training and education, preparing myself for the challenges that lay ahead. In 2006, I was commissioned as a Sub Lieutenant, marking the beginning of my operational service.

With each passing year, I gained valuable experience, demonstrating exceptional dedication and leadership abilities. In recognition of my exemplary performance, I was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant in September 2010. This promotion served as a testament to my commitment to excellence and my ability to effectively carry out my duties. I continued to serve with distinction, displaying a strong work ethic and an unwavering devotion to my responsibilities.

September 2014 marked another significant milestone in my military career, as I was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant Commander. This promotion reflected my continued growth and achievements in the military. As a Lieutenant Commander, I assumed even greater responsibilities, took charge of important projects, and demonstrated exceptional leadership skills.

Throughout my military tenure, I held various key positions of significant responsibility. One notable role was that of a Base Communications and Information Technology Officer, where I was responsible for overseeing all communication and technology-related matters within the base. Additionally, I served as the Base Legal Officer, Base First Lieutenant, Base Regulating Officer, and Base Transformation Officer, showcasing my versatility and ability to handle multiple responsibilities with utmost professionalism and efficiency.

Furthermore, I served as a Centre Commander, entrusted with the crucial task of overseeing the operations of the Central Regional Control Centre of the Falcon Eye maritime surveillance system. In this role, I played a vital role in maritime domain awareness, ensuring maritime security and safety. I was responsible for providing navigation guidance to vessels at sea, offering search and rescue support, and contributing to efforts aimed at preventing and combating maritime crimes, such as drug trafficking, smuggling, piracy, and crude oil theft. Notable achievements included successfully tracking and apprehending the vessel MT MAXIMUS in a major anti-petro-piracy operation and leading search and rescue operations for incidents such as the Bristol helicopter crash and the sinking of MV VARIC.

My rank progression and career achievements were the result of my unwavering dedication, professionalism, and commitment to serving my country. Throughout my military journey, I consistently demonstrated a strong work ethic, exceptional leadership skills, and a deep sense of responsibility. I am proud to have had the opportunity to contribute to the defense and security of my nation, and I am grateful for the invaluable experiences and lessons gained during my service.

By offering affordable and accessible precision agriculture solutions, Fagex seeks to overcome the financial barriers that farmers often face in adopting these technologies.

The implementation of precision agriculture through Fagex has the potential to revolutionize the agricultural sector in Africa. By providing farmers with real-time data on soil conditions, weather patterns, crop health, and other crucial parameters, Fagex empowers them to make informed decisions and optimize their farming practices. The primary objective of the project is to establish 1 million square meters of agricultural infrastructure dedicated to vegetable production, with an estimated trade potential exceeding 30 billion Naira annually. This ambitious undertaking has the potential to create approximately 7,000 job opportunities.

However, due to challenges faced by FarmKonnect, the Wave City Project has been temporarily suspended. The project is currently seeking financial support to resume operations and bring the vision to fruition. With the necessary funding, the Wave City Project can resume its mission of establishing a state-of-the-art agricultural system that maximizes productivity, minimizes resource usage, and contributes to sustainable food production.

Restarting the Wave City Project would not only create employment opportunities but also stimulate economic growth within the agricultural sector. By harnessing advanced farming techniques and technologies, the project aims to enhance crop yields, improve product quality, and promote local and international trade.

The project was undertaken in collaboration with Touch Stone Snails Limited, one of the world’s largest snail companies based in Larnaca, Cyprus.

The Egbeja Snail Village project was an ambitious venture aimed at establishing a snail production facility utilizing the curtain method. It had a target area of 100,000 square meters dedicated to snail farming, with a primary focus on the production of snail slime, meat, and caviar for export markets. This innovative approach to snail farming would have had a significant economic impact.

The project held immense potential, not only in terms of revenue generation but also in job creation. At its maturity, it was projected to create up to 5,000 job opportunities, providing employment and income to local communities. Moreover, the project would have contributed to the export sector, generating foreign exchange earnings and enhancing Nigeria’s presence in the global snail market.
